Compensatory Mitigation & Permitting Support for an Offshore Pipeline Spoolbase Project, Port Isabel, Texas

This drawing shows the compensatory wetland mitigation site for wetland impacts associated with a pipeline spoolbase facility in Cameron County, Texas. This wetland mitigation site restored a dredged material disposal site to its original seagrass, black mangrove, smooth cordgrass, high marsh and shallow water habitats. BEI designed, permitted and monitored construction of the wetland mitigation site. However, BEI's role in obtaining the necessary Corps of Engineers permits was much larger than just assisting with mitigation site planning and construction. BEI played an integral role in obtaining the spoolbase permit and offered services including resource agency coordination, wetland delineation and other sensitive resource evalutions subject to Corps of Engineers jurisdiction within the project area. The client was issued a permit for the spoolbase facility and construction has been completed and the facility is currently operational.
