Palustrine Mitigation Site in Mont Belvieu, Texas

This inland, freshwater mitigation site was designed, permitted, planted and monitored by Belaire Environmental, Inc. Constructed near Mont Belvieu, Texas, to mitigate for impacts from a Union Pacific railroad terminal expansion, this mitigation site offers a matrix of freshwater marsh habitat vegetated by soft rush (Juncus effusus), square-stemmed spikerush (Eleocharis quadrangulata), alligator weed (Alternanthera philoxeroides), and arrowhead (Sagittaria lancifolia).
