BEI has over 30 years of experience in assisting clients with obtaining Corps of Engineers permits. The attached map shows the "The Sanctuary", a 900 acre residential, canal subdivision located in Port O'Connor, Texas. BEI was the sole environmental consultant for this project. BEI's roles included but were not limited to performance of a comprehensive wetland delineation and sensitive resource area survey for the project area, assistance with project planning for the avoidance and minimization of impacts to sensitive resource areas, mitigation planning for a 40 acre freshwater marsh and a 22 acre estuarine marsh, Corps of Engineers and resource agency coordination and consultation, Section 7 endangered species consultation for the whooping crane (Grus Americana), development of a practicable alternatives analysis per NEPA guidelines, preparation of a vegetative stormwater management plan and securing Texas Commission on Environmental Quality Water Quality Certification. As the map shows, the project was authorized by the Corps of Engineers and construction is underway.
