Estuarine Mitigation Site in Aransas Pass, Texas

This tidal mitigation site in Aransas Pass is an intricate complex of smooth cordgrass (Spartina alterniflora), shoalgrass (Halodule wrightii) and meandering tidal sloughs. Belaire Environmental provided design consultation, construction monitoring, planting and biological monitoring for this habitat creation project. This site serves as a fishery nursery area and is commonly used by colonial waterbirds, migratory waterfowl, as well as kayakers and recreational fisherman.
